JTO exam was held on January and the result was declared on June. The exam conducted on June 2011 was declared on October 2011. Bombay Stock Exchange is the oldest stock exchange in Asia with a rich heritage, now spanning three centuries in its 133 years of existence. What is now popularly known as BSE was established as "The Native Share & Stock Brokers' Association" in 1875. BSE's pivotal and pre-eminent role in the development of the Indian capital market is widely recognized. It migrated from the open outcry system to an online screen-based order driven trading system in 1995. There is perhaps no major corporate in India which has not sourced BSE's services in raising resources from the capital market.

Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE) started way back in 1830 under a "Neem Tree." Today CSE has emerged as the second largest bourse in India. In May 1908, the group formed an association and named it as we know it today at 2, China Bazar Street. CSE was incorporated in the year 1908 with 150 members. At present, the membership has reached above 900 with several corporate and institutional members. More than 3,500 companies have been listed to the exchange.

The year 1997 was a new era for Calcutta Stock Exchange. It replaced old mannual trading system with fully computerised on-line trading & reporting system known as C-STAR. (CSE Screen Based Trading And Reporting). The main system hardware is a Tandem S74000 series machine. The wide area network works on VSAT technology & Router/Modem. Disaster Recovery System has been also installed to take care of natural calamities or unexpected breakdowns.

SEBI is the Regulator for the Securities Market in India. Originally set up by the Government of India in 1988, it acquired statutory form in 1992 with SEBI Act 1992 being passed by the Indian Parliament. Chandrasekhar Bhaskar Bhave is the sixth chairman of the Securities Market Regulator. Prior to taking charge as Chairman SEBI, he had been the chairman of NSDL (National Securities Depository Limited) ushering in paperless securities. SEBI has three functions rolled into one body quasi-legislative, quasi-judicial and quasi-executive. It drafts regulations in its legislative capacity, it conducts investigation and enforcement action in its executive function and it passes rulings and orders in its judicial capacity.
